Items

Each time you level, defeat a creep or dragon, you get a chance to find an item. There are 10 types of items: rings, amulets, charms, weapons, helms, tunics, gloves, leggings, shields, and boots. You can find one of each type. When you find an item with a level higher than the level of the item you already have, you toss the old item and start using the new one.

If you are below level 15, then you have a 25% (good players 33%) chance to find an item upgrade scroll with a value between 25 and 75. This scroll will try three times to update one of your items that is below the value roll (25-75).

If you are at level 15 or higher, then you have a 20% (good players 25%) chance to find an item upgrade scroll with a value that is your average sum plus 10% of your average sum. This scroll will try three times to update one of your items that is below the value.

The value of the upgrade is 5% of the item, plus 1/2 your level value, plus a random value of upgrade level times 2 (minimum of 1), plus 1 (got to have at least 1 for new players).

EXAMPLE 1:
Level 30 with these items:

amulet: 300
boots: 500
charm: 70
gloves: 500
helm: 65
leggings: 60
ring: 70
shield: 70
tunic: 50
weapon: 70

Sum: 1755

The average of your sum is 175. Add 10% for item scroll value which gives 192. It picks the amulet, shield and tunic to try and update. Amulet is already greater than 192 so it moves to the second item, the shield, which is lower. It upgrades the shield value to 93 with no upgrade.

EXAMPLE 2:
Level 30 with these items:

amulet: 180
boots: 175
charm: 170
gloves: 180
helm: 170
leggings: 180
ring: 180
shield: 170
tunic: 170
weapon: 180

Sum: 1755

The average of your sum is 175. Add 10% for item scroll value which gives 192. It picks the shield in the first try and upgrades it to 194 with no upgrade.

Expert Items (Level 25 or higher)

When you successfully attack a creep, you have a 50% chance that a wise old man will observe you and possibly give you his expert knowledge for an item. For the first expert item, you have a 15% chance of gaining his expert knowledge. For the second expert item, you have a 10% chance and for the third, a 5% chance.

The item chosen will be your highest valued item at the time of gaining expert knowledge, but not the items that you are already an expert on.

Each Expert Item will add 10% of the items value to your sum. The percentage added will already be included in the whoami total sum, but not in the total sum on the web page for your character.

Special Stones

When you successfully slay a dragon, you have a 5% chance to fill one of three slots. The stones can be one of the following:

  • Gold - 10% bonus
  • Gem - 20% bonus
  • Life - 10% restored
  • XP - 50% bonus
  • TTL - 20% bonus
  • rand - random roll for one of the above

The stones will be used when you fight another player, attack a creep or slay a dragon. The stones remain with you the rest of the game. They cannot be exchanged or stolen. You can get rid of a stone with this command:
/msg IdleRPG toss stone name
